Okay, so this is NOT what you may be thinking...My post is actually about a clothes closet. One that stores seasonal clothes. You know. The one you brave to discover what clothes you’ve kept from last year. The ones you deemed (ahem) worthy of another go round this winter? With winter tapping it’s foot waiting to get on with it’s bluster n’ all – I’ve got to find out what I have on hand and what I may need to buy. As usual I’m a little slow getting started. This is in part due to the fact that we live in a part of the country where the term ‘winter’ is a joke to other areas where the snow comes early, stays late and parties with a vengeance. I know. We lived in those parts for a good many years. Nonetheless, my blood runs thinner now – and I shudder weakly at even the thought of snow, ice and a killing frost. I still need a few layers of insulation to endure when the temperature takes a dip – no matter that our mail delivery personnel insist on wearing their shorts throughout the winter months as some kind of badge of honor. So the question remains – What remains? – I’m off to discover...

It’s fun to read personal blogs from time to time. Maybe you collect a handful that you enjoy reading because the people are entertaining or informative. Or maybe it’s just because they seem to have an honesty that is appealing in that it reveals how similar our feelings are about certain matters. However, it’s important to remember that everyone filters their thoughts through their own perceptions. While revealing in their own way it’s only part of the truth. And while being a temporary diversion, they cannot replace the wonder of your own life. Don’t get lost in the cacophony...

Paul Newman seemed to be a pretty decent guy, don’t ya think? I mean, we know of his successful acting career but when you hear how he lived his life overall – it seems as though that was just secondary – really. He was successfully married for 50 years to Joanne Woodward. Had five kids. Created a business that gave all of its profits to the charity he created to help young children cope with serious illness. He loved racing – still involved in it at 80. He just seemed to know how to enjoy life without creating scandal. Tough when you’re in the public eye. His family and closest friends have no doubt lost someone they loved dearly...

The news today is sparking and jumping with every bit of ad infinitum details about the pros and cons of a $700 Billion Dollar Buy Out that is meant to save the U.S. economy. Recessions and depressions. I can’t quite get the hang of it all. How many people do you think – really understand the nuances behind this action? How many people do you think – are rolling their eyes and holding their breath and just plain hoping that somebody, somewhere knows what the heck they’re doing? That sometime in near future they can hope to get the food they need for the week, pay their bills on time, and maybe have 2 cents left over to buy a treat for themselves or little Johnny? I suppose if I really cared to – I’d dig deep to understand what is really going on and what it means in the long run. But it’s starting to hurt to think logically. I mean, what does it matter for the little guy to get it? It’s not going to change the outcome, is it? It’s a cold and rainy day. For now, a hot bowl of soup will have to do...
